Mayors Headshot

Welcome to the Office of the Mayor of the City of Fall River
Thank you for visiting the City of Fall River’s website. To residents, I want to tell you that it is a great honor and privilege to be your mayor. As always, I pledge to work hard, every single day, to improve your quality of life and to make Fall River even better.

Like any city, we face our challenges, but Fall River is also a great place to live, to raise a family, to work and to enjoy life. It’s a city of beautiful, livable neighborhoods and wonderful neighbors. And it’s a city with a bright future. Together, we can make a good city a great city. That is my job, my mission and my passion.

To visitors, I extend my heartfelt welcome. Fall River is well-known as a city with a unique and excellent local cuisine. Our restaurants, bakeries, and food retail establishments are second to none. From the famous Fall River chow mein sandwiches, malasadas and locally-made chourico to the finest Portuguese cuisine anywhere in the country, Fall River’s food scene is not to be missed!

But Fall River is so much more than that. Our waterfront, with its parks, restaurants, and attractions brings visitors from all over the region. The vast Southeastern Massachusetts Bioreserve and Fall River Freetown State Forest offer a plethora of outdoor activities in the largely unspoiled eastern end of the city. A new bicycle path is under construction through the heart of the city.

Fall River also has some great shopping! Specialty clothing boutiques, leather goods, Fall River-made linens, imported products from Portugal – Fall River offers retailing that just cannot be found elsewhere.

While you’re here, you will find many beautiful and historical buildings, including one of the finest collections of Victorian homes in the United States. We are also home to Battleship Cove, the Marine Museum at Fall River, the Children’s Museum of Greater Fall River and many other attractions.

If you haven’t visited us yet, we welcome you. Fall River is old and new and open for business!
