Elections

The Mission of the Board of Elections Department is to conduct and oversee all municipal, state, and federal elections as well as the annual municipal census pursuant to all relevant statutes and regulations issued by the Commonwealth. This commitment extends to ensuring the smooth operation of various electoral processes, including the management of the municipal census, voter registry, absentee and mail-in ballots, certification of petitions and nomination papers, election and census records, voting technology/equipment and recount procedures.

Our department strives for excellence in service to the people of Fall River. We believe in empowering residents with knowledge about voting and census procedures and enhancing electoral participation. Our mission encompasses administering mandated electoral timetables with precision, ensuring accurate and efficient service to the people of Fall River with reliability and integrity. 

The Chairman & Director of the Board of Elections Department is the city's Chief Elections Official and manages the general conduct of the department, multi-governmental elections, and municipal census.
