The Fall River Fire Department (FRFD) Training Division is responsible for the continuous training of all in service personnel.

In addition, the Training Division:

• Ensures that the FRFD meets all federal and state mandated training requirements.
• Maintains comprehensive training records
• Is involved in the procurement and inventory of firefighting equipment.

The Division consists of a District Chief, who is a certified instructor and serves as the Department Safety Officer, and a Lieutenant, who is a certified lead instructor.

Training sessions are conducted both in-house and at the training facility on Commerce Drive.

The training complex is affiliated with the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy as a satellite training facility for the MFA. The FRFD has more than 20 certified training instructors available in its cadre, of which approximately 15 teach for the MFA.
