Mornings
visit the Battleship Cove, home to the U.S.S. Massachusetts Battleship
and several sister ships. The U.S.S. Massachusetts was home to 2,300
sailors who lived and fought during World War II. Longer than two
football fields, this 46,000 ton battleship fought 35 battles and
logged 225,000 miles. This mighty vessel was the first battleship
to fire her big 16" guns in World War II. While here, also visit the
U.S.S. Joseph P. Kennedy Destroyer named for the oldest brother of
President John F. Kennedy. Joseph was killed on a volunteer mission
during World War II. This destroyer saw action in Korea and Vietnam.
The lower deck of this ship is now the home of the National Destroyer
Men's Museum.

If submarines
interest you, visit the U.S.S. Lionfish. This is a perfectly maintained
WWII sub with all her equipment intact. Visit the conning tower, control
and torpedo rooms. See how these 76 men of the "silent service" ate,
slept, fought and dreamed of home.

Battleship Cove and the Waterstreet Cafe. Here you can view artifacts
from the R.M.S. Titantic. This famous oceanliner was called unsinkable.
In April of 1912 this ship went down after striking an iceberg and
took with her 1,500 people to a watery grave. Two major motion pictures
have been made about this unforgettable ship.

The
museum also boasts a wonderful cache of artifacts from the Fall River
Line. This line was the fastest link from Boston to New York City
beginning in 1847. The line was connected by rail and sea. The regular
schedule would take up to 13 hours between the two major cities. Fall
River was a major link in moving passengers and cargo between these
cities. Many wonderful model ships and original china, chandeliers,
uniforms, chairs and old steam whistles are on display. After a wonderful
day of sightseeing stop and dine at one of our many wonderful ethnic

and the Facts.
|
Morning
tour of the Borden House. This home is where one of the most famous
murder mysteries took place. Lizzie Borden was accused of killing her
mother and father with an ax on August 4, 1892. She was tried and
acquitted of this horrible crime. This house has been a private residence
since the murders. Now for the first time the public is allowed not
only to view the murder scene, but is given an opportunity to spend
a night in the actual house where the murders took place. The interior
and exterior of the home have been restored to its original Victorian
splendor, with careful attention to making it as close to the Borden
home of August, 1892 as possible.

Next

Style Mansion houses many of the artifacts reflecting the days when
Fall River was the largest cotton cloth manufacturing center in the
world. You may also view the famous Lizzie Borden Exhibit. Lunch at
