Bristol Elder Services
Founded in 1973, BES is a private non-profit corporation designated as our area’s “Aging Services Access Point” and our area agency on aging. Bristol Elder Services serves as the entry point for elder services in southeastern Massachusetts. A variety of community-based services and programs are available to elders and their families through BES.
Massachusetts Association of Councils on Aging and Senior Centers
Established in 1979 in order to improve the quality of services provided to senior citizens in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. They aim to educate and improve the skills of COA and Senior Center staff in the Commonwealth, and encourage and promote the development of new Senior Centers.
Executive Office of Elder Affairs
EOEA provides information regarding home care, caregiver support, nutrition programs, protective services, health and wellness services, and housing options in Massachusetts. They also administer the SHINE (Serving the Health Information Needs of Elders) program, which, since 1988,provides health insurance counseling services to elderly and disabled adults.
National Council on Aging
NCOA is a non-profit service and advocacy organization in Washington, D.C.that brings together non-profit organizations, businesses and government to develop creative solutions to improve the lives of all older adults. NCOA helps seniors live independently, find jobs and benefits, improve their health and remain active in their communities.
