The association was created in 1978, by concerned citizens and local clergy in response to increased crime and neighborhood break-ins. It is the city’s oldest neighborhood association. The association is incorporated and registered with the state of Massachusetts and has a President, Vice President, Treasurer and approximately 11 board of directors.
The association is located in the south central section of Fall River. It is bounded by Interstate I-195 southerly via Plymouth Avenue to southerly on Stafford Road to easterly on Brayton Avenue to Jefferson Street to northerly on Warren Street to Rodman Street to include the Watuppa Heights housing development back to Plymouth Avenue. The neighborhood encompasses more than 8,000 households, which consist of single family homes , multi-family homes and condominiums. The neighborhood is home to two elementary schools, William S. Greene and St Peter and Paul’s.
