Fall River takes great pride in its cultural and ethnic diversity and its long history of immigration by people from various parts of the world to our city. Recognizing that our city’s development has been strengthened and enriched by our immigrant heritage, the City believes that it is important to provide the community with this vital resource. Services are offered in English and Portuguese on a walk-in basis and information is kept confidential.

The Community Development Agency Immigration & Naturalization Assistance Office:


  • Answers questions regarding pending immigration cases or immigration issues in general.
  • Assist with forms dealing with the United States Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) 
  • Assists legal permanent residents with issues regarding their Alien Card, such as renewing or replacing a lost, stolen, or expired card and also with applying for United States Citizenship.
  • Has study materials in English, Portuguese, and Spanish for anyone interested in becoming a naturalized citizen.
  • Translates documents such as birth, marriage, divorce, and death certificates free of charge.
  • Provides notary services free of charge.
