The City of Fall River administers, through Boston Mutual Life Insurance Company, two-group life insurance policies to its employees at hire.  They are the Basic Life Insurance Plan and the Voluntary Life Insurance Plan.

The Basic Life Insurance Plan, is a $5,000.00 death benefit with a double indemnity paid to the member’s beneficiary. The municipality pays 75% of the cost and the employee pays 25% of the cost. 

In addition to the Basic Life Insurance Plan, an employee may also opt to enroll in the Voluntary Plan, additional life insurance fully funded by the employee. Upon hire, the member can opt for an insurance amount of up to five times their annual salary.
