UPDATED March 23, 2006

1. The fee for Bulky Item disposal shall be $5.00 per three (3) items.

2. 2. If a resident has 1, 2 or 3 items to be picked up, the resident must make the payment of $5.00 (payment procedure detailed below) and schedule said pick up. If a resident has more than three (3) items, the resident can purchase additional pick ups for the same day, but must pay $5.00 per each additional set of 1-3 items.

3. Items shall not be put out for pick up earlier than 6:00 PM the night before the scheduled pick up.

4. 4. The bulky item program is for Fall River residents only. No commercial waste nor waste from out of town allowed. If a Fall River resident has a second home in another community, waste generated in that other community cannot be brought to Fall River for disposal.

5. Fines can be issued for illegal disposal of bulky items.

6. Bulky items include the following:
  • White goods and metals: washers, dryers, cooking stoves, heating stoves, metal tubs and sinks, lawn mowers absent fuel and oil, other large metal lawn care tools, metal cabinets, tire rims, swing sets, etc.

If an item is not in a barrel (35-gallon barrel or less) it can be considered a bulky item.
7. DPW reserves the right to classify what a bulky item is.
